At first I wasn’t very keen walking around the Porsche Museum. The installation is well known and I thought there is nothing for me to shoot there.
Lines, contrasts, shapes and forms speak to me. And as it turned out, I found what I did not expect.
Shot with: Minolta XD 7, 50mm 1.4, Kodak Portra 400
The installation by Gerry Judah is put in the middle of a roundabout in-front of the Porsche Museum in an unspectacular part of Stuttgart.
It is offering multiple perspectives and angles, nice to explore from wherever you approach it.
The afternoon light played out very well and I really enjoyed framing the blue sky and white contrast of the cars and columns.
Surprisingly I was quite happy how much I liked the location while shooting there. Another great lesson, better experience something yourself, don´t create a perception from nothing.
Sidenote
On some shots you will notice white stripes. These are light rays on the film due to corroded rubber seals in the camera body.
Light entering unexposed film is either deadly to your shots or can cause wrong color exposures on film or in this case these white stripes at best case…
Flaws or favorable?
